On Friday September 18th the 29th Annual CAPA Cup Golf tournament was held. It was a beautiful late Summer day. We had 216 players and 20 volunteers out on the course to help us raise money for scholarships to attend the Asphalt Technology course at Auburn University. The players and volunteers were all treated to a BBQ lunch and the awards ceremony after the round of golf.

The Cup champions for 2020 were the team from Faris Machinery.

Mark you calendars for September 17, 2021 for the 30th Annual CAPA Cup Golf tournament.

Where does the money from our event go?
The CAPA fund-raising Golf Tournament is the primary event used to fund the CAPA portion for recipients to attend the NCAT Technology Course, next year, February 22 to 26, 2021.

Each year CAPA in Partnership with the APWA Colorado Chapter, selects several candidates to attend the week long technology course at the NCAT facility at Auburn University, Alabama.
NCAT is the foremost research facility for the advancement of HMA in the country. To be considered for a scholarship to attend the Technology Course at NCAT, visit the CAPA Scholarship page and submit your application.

CAPA’s 2020 ‘Best in Colorado’ Awards - Recognizing Quality Construction

This year the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association will be celebrating the 27th Anniversary of our ‘Best in Colorado’ Award Program. This program began in 1994 with awards for each of the initial six categories.  Over the years, additional categories have been added, competition has increased significantly from across the state and as a result, the overall everyday quality of work in our industry continues to excel.  Since the program began, over 1,100 projects have been nominated for consideration resulting in 312 ‘Best in Colorado’ awards.  Every year our program is a little different than the one before.  In terms of the cross section of projects submitted, the makeup of the Awards Team, and the findings of the field reviews.

Every year we have projects nominated by owner or agency representatives from across the state in each of the thirteen categories:
