The RMAEC and LabCAT program is up and running!

Beginning the week of July 5th, both the RMAEC training schedule and the LabCAT certification schedule will resume according to pre-COVID standards.  We ask everyone be prepared with a face mask, stay safe, practice safe distancing, and stay home if you’re not feeling well or exhibiting any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19.

If your RMAEC training or LabCAT certification session was previously canceled, or you are in need of getting yourself or someone in your organization certified, now is the time to select a a session date. For those who had their certification expire between March and the end of July, and were put on hold to re certify, the CDOT Chief Engineers memo for extending expired certifications Dated June 25, 2020 will expire on August 31, 2020, unless it is extended. After that point you will not be allowed on projects or to enter data in the LIMS system.

  • Please reference the 2020 LabCAT Certification Schedule.  Select a date and send us an email.  Please do not send a new registration form if you were previously registered.  Your original registration form is still “active”, you just need to update the session date.
  • Be patient, you will receive a confirmation email with your reschedule session date.
  • As always, prerequisite documentation is due the Wednesday before the session start date.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Thank you for all your patience during this unprecedented time.

BE SMART, STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY

Guidance from CDOT Leadership: The most recent industry conference call with CDOT Chief Engineer Steve Harelsen and Director Shoshana Lew was held on Monday, April 27.  The “Safer at Home” Executive Order doesn’t change much for the construction industry as it is similar to what is already being done.  All projects that have been bid and show “Pending Award” on the CDOT website are moving through the process and expected to be awarded.  Only one project has been shut down due to a positive Coronavirus test(s).  The next Transportation Commission is planned for next week to further discuss funding and budget issues.  There haven’t been any reported shortages of facial masks on construction projects.
