Making Memories with Asphalt

It was July 21, 1962 when the runway at Glenwood Springs Airport was first paved. Corn Construction paved the runway and Paul Rippy of E.J. Rippy and Sons took the first flight to cut the ribbon. It is now 53 years later and the runway received an asphalt overlay paved by Grand River Construction and Paul’s son, Gregg, President of Grand River Construction, was the pilot of the plane that cut the ribbon.

NAPA Mid-Year Meeting Focuses on Peak Performance

Denver was the host city for the 2015 Mid-Year Meeting of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA). The theme of the meeting was Driving Towards Peak Performance and it provided a great opportunity for industry leaders to discuss emerging trends and to be updated on a number of key initiatives within the asphalt industry. A highlight was an optional tour to the Brannan Sand & Gravel Lipan Asphalt Plant Facility.
