 Inspector- Level I

Inspector Registration/ Prerequisite Documentation Form
 

The Inspector Registration / Prerequisite Form allows you to request your session date, provide billing information, and document your certification prerequisites, all in one step.

You may register On Line, or print the .pdf and submit via: fax, USPS, or scan and email.

You will receive an email confirmation within 48 hours.  If you do not receive confirmation, please contact the RMAEC Training Coordinator, Diane Hammond at (303)741-6148 ext 154. 

CAPA members and CDOT will be invoiced for certification. Non-CAPA members are expected to pay on or before the session start date.  

Inspector Certification Prerequisites

Inspectors are required to pre-qualify for their initial certification.  Required prerequisites include: work experience, verification of proficiency in Inspection elements, and LabCAT Level A certification, which may be current or expired. 

  • Please note: Inspectors re-certifying are not required to complete the prerequisite section of the registration form.

  • Inspection / Work Experience
    A minimum of 6 months experience in Laydown operations, with a minimum of 60 days   performing Inspector responsibilities. 
     

  • Inspection Elements
    Reading Specifications, Surface Preparation for HMA, Materials Transfer Vehicles, Sampling of HMA Mixtures, Paving Operations, Compaction, and Mat Defects.
     

  • LabCAT Level A – Laydown Certification
    Level A certification may be current or expired. Inspectors may complete Level I prior to Level A.  However, Level I certification is pending successful completion of Level A.         Level A must be completed within 4 months of receiving Level I. Please note: Inspector re-certifying are not required to keep Level A certification current.
