The Colorado DOT and CAPA cooperate in a very comprehensive partnership to continually refine and improve hot mix asphalt specifications, test methods and contracting practices. Listed below are several on going efforts that are being worked on through the process. CAPA/CDOT Task Force Tracking Report has been updated in January 2008 and is available.

Aggregate Quality (Part 2)

A joint CAPA/CDOT Task Force has been established to address two aggregate quality issues.  The two issues are fine aggregate specific gravity requirements and aggregate soak time for the Micro-Deval Test.  The December 12 Meeting Minutes, a Micro-Deval Study Report,  and a draft CPL 4211 Micro-Deval Test Method are available for review.  The next meeting of the Task Force is set for 1:00pm, Tuesday, February 19, 2008, CDOT N. Holly Office.
